to my capstone portfolio for the Emporia State University School of Library and Information Management MLS program.  This portfolio serves as a culmination of my experiences as a graduate student and my journey to become a librarian.  It has been an enriching adventure filled with inspirational people.

About me

I first started working in libraries while attending Florida State University for my undergraduate degree.  Upon graduating, I returned to my hometown and starting working at the public library. Many jobs later, I found myself wondering what I was going to do with my life, wanting more from my work than the service industry was providing.  I kept going back to libraries as the most inspiring place I had been employed.  The more I looked into the careers and opportunities in the field, I knew it was for me.  There are many aspects of the profession that I enjoy, however, teaching and service are the two that inspire me the most.  I love working with students and I enjoy finding new and creative ways to provide information services to this population.  For the future, I hope to continue working in academic libraries.
